Building on the principles and success of HCU, a new Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Institute (MNCHI) is now formally established at MUST. This institute will serve as a hub for MNCH-related community-based programs, research, and training nationally and in East Africa.

Our Ugandan Director, Dr. Jerome Kabakyenga, currently serves as the MNCHI Director. He will lead the development of the institute, under which HCU will continue as a main program. The institute is a fantastic opportunity for sustainability of HCU activities over the longer term, and it is well-positioned to support new research, training, and implementation opportunities.
